Giving More to Your Wealth
29 Jun 2021

Egypt’s NWC (National Wages Council) has decided to set the minimum wage for private sector employees at EGP2,400/month. The decision will be implemented from 1 January 2022. Companies that are unable to comply with this standard can make their case to the NWC, which will then decide if they can be exempted from implementing the minimum wage. The NWC also decided on the value of the periodic bonus to private sector employees, setting it at 3% of the employees’ insurance contribution, and at a minimum of EGP60, to be implemented from July 2021.
